MEOWDY DO! We are The Karasu-Kai. We're a small, inclusive, RP-focused Free Company located on Balmung. Our Free Company is a yakuza-themed and most of our membership have been role playing in Final Fantasy XIV for over five years.IC'ly The Karasu-Kai is a yakuza organization dabbling heavily in the drug trade. Operating out of the Goblet and Kugane, the lavish profits of the organization go to making it's members rich, and funding the whispered and dark magical research it's leaders have a deep interest in.Our FC story plot is ever-evolving with weekly events that detail the conflicts between the Karasu-Kai and those that would oppose them in their quest for riches and power.Our goal at The Karasu-Kai is to provide a fun, laid-back, inclusive atmosphere where anyone can feel at ease, feel welcome, and have fun! Whether is just joking around OOC, chilling in other games, helping someone further their personal plot-arc, interacting with the community via random IC RP, or ensuring everyone has a place in our FC story, we want people to enjoy themselves! LEADERSHIP AND RANKS

OYABUNS

At the helm of The Karasu-Kai is the Nbolo family. The head of the the family, Kataani and Krick Nbolo are both ambitious, infamous miqo'te in their own right, the couple strive forward as a dangerous compliment to the other. Krick, with his scheming and slow-paced plans, directs his agents across Eorzea to grow the Group's power and protect their position. In contrast, Kataani's direct and blunt methods ensure there is no doubt that the Group is an agency to be reckoned with and that it will not pull it's punches if it comes to conflict.

The Wakagashira

The Hands. These are the trusted and the proven and the trusted. Those expected to ensure the Nbolo's vision is exectuted and carried out. They report directly to the Nbolo's are are only accountable to them. Please note that these are OOC officers as well.

The Shateigashira

The junior officers of the organization. Those who have proven their loyalty and their capacity for performance and the rare trait of leadership. They ensure the will of their superiors are carried out and help guide their fellows in the path of the Karasu.

The Kyodai

The proven of the the rank-and-file. Those that have proven they can be relied upon to represent the organization well, while also being able to handle any task assigned to them. They are the specialists, the proven.

The Shatei

The newest members, the raw recruits. Those that have the potential for something more than the normal life. These are the those that have passed their trials as an initiate and been deemed worthy of membership.

IC RULES

THE TENANTS OF CONDUCTLoyalty: You are expected to be loyal. The orders of any superior, are to be followed without question. Defiance of an order shall be explained immediately and punishments will be extremely harsh. Betrayal of this organization and your family shall be meet with your destruction at our hands.Respectful: We expect you to be respectful of everyone. Even your enemies. 'Manners Maketh the man'.Pack Mentality: You will treat your fellow members with courtesy, dignity, and respect. You will ensure their needs are equal in importance to your own. And be ready to have their back at a moment's noticeAmbitious: We expect The Karasu-Kai to grow in power and profits. These goals should be important to you. If you hear of a chance to grow our power and influence, we expect you to investigate it, attempt to arrange potential meetings, and brief your superiors of any and all opportunities you have found. We have no need for lethargic employees.Actions have Consequences: Your actions represent your fellow members and this organization. Keep that in mind. We will ensure great rewards and harsh punishments accordingly.Personal Appearance: We expect perfection in body and soul. Physically, you will ensure you keep yourself in peak physical condition for any conflict. Your hair shall be well-cleaned and groomed. We expect your attire to be lavish, effective, impressive, and professional at all times. Your boots will be polished. Your belts lacquered. Your blades clean and sharp.Conduct: We demand professional conduct. You represent this organization.Self-awareness: You will become aware of your self. You will meditate on yourself, your life, yours goals, what makes you happy and what makes you sad and all things in between.We reserve the right to make more rules for you as we see fit.

OOC RULES

1. Please, don't be a butt.2. This is an 21+ Discord and Free Company. Both you and your character(s) must be 21 or older to join and roleplay.3. This is an open-minded FC and we will not tolerate discrimination against others no matter their orientation, creed, or identity.4. If you have an issue with someone inside the FC, we request that you handle it with that individual directly and privately if possible. We ask that our officers only be involved if the individual's problematic behavior continues after speaking with the person you are having a problem with privately.5. The classic but always worth mentioning: Avoid mixing IC and OOC.6. Ask for permission. If it is possible that harm of some sort will befall someone IC, please make sure you you double check with the character's player to make sure it's okay.7. If a dark topic is expected in a scene, please let others know. If something comes up in RP that bothers you OOC'ly, please let others know so they can either tweak the scene or give you and your character a way to depart. We NEVER want you to feel like you have to stay in any RP you do not wish too.8. We request that you never have more than a maximum of 2 main characters involved in the FC's story plot. We welcome alts but to ensure everyone has a chance to shine in the plot, will limit the number of characters one player may have involved to ensure quality rp spread.9. Have fun! The most important part of RP is fun.10. No pressure. We never want you feel like you HAVE to RP and ask that you never make someone feel obligated too either. This is a hobby and sometimes folks wanna play other games or take breaks. Most of our membership have at least once. If you need to take a break or have to miss an event, there is no punishment. We understand life happens and will be happy to have your char slip back into the fun once you can. Just let us know if you need one or will miss an event.

We want you!

If you are interested in joining Karasu-Kai, we would love to have you! We have two ways you can join the fun.The first way is joining the Group as a member of 'Western Skies' crime network, which is an alliance of criminals from all over Eorzea run by the Karasu-Kai. Joining the Western Skies Coalition nets you access to our Cross-world Linkpearl so you can interact with our FC members and our allies IC'ly. Great for those already sporting an awesome FC. For this option, you'll need to meet with one of the Karasu-Kai officers leaders IC'ly to see if your character can prove they are a good fit! :DIf you want to join the FC proper, there is an application process. First we ask that you fill out a short application form APPLY HERE and then contact us on Discord. We'll look over the application and then sit down for a short interview via voice chat. If we think you are a good fit, we'll bring you in as an 'Initiate' so you can see what you think and make sure we're where you want to set up home IC. After a few weeks, if you think we're a good fit for you and your character, we'll hold an IC initiation ceremony for them and make them a full member.
